Thank you for an amazing 10 days at Andante. The property is beautiful. Luciah is a gem, we only had to contact her twice and both times she replied within seconds. We met her right at the villa as we are familiar with the area and did not require an escort. The first night was wonderful and we acclimated to the villa easily. We noticed the labelling throughout the entire villa, this is great and much appreciated! The winds coming through the villa were wonderful and you can tell the villa was strategically placed to take advantage of the trade winds. Upon booking, our biggest concern was the lack of air conditioning throughout, I can now understand why you did not install it given the winds. The fans are AMAZING! We want them in our home.

Another thing we were pleasantly surprised with was the lower-level bedroom. We have stayed at several villas in St. John, and throughout the Caribbean. The common thread is the "mustiness" of lower-level rooms. This is obviously given the tropical climate, but somehow this is not the case at Andante. That bedroom was just as fresh as the others. We have told many folks about Andante, and really hope we have the opportunity to stay again.

100% as advertised and pictures are the real deal. Excellent house and amenities and it was an unbelievable week of beach hopping via car and boat. Proximity of house to stores and restaurants is perfect. Grill and kitchen setup was great to make meals on site. Pool and hot tub setup is outstanding. We will be back.

Jay met us when we arrived and we are very much enjoying our stay at Andante. The views are breathtaking. There was a spectacular rainbow late Sunday afternoon over Hart Bay! We had 3 great beach days, but today was heavy rain, wind and thunderstorms. A good day for reading. Thankfully, it has finally stopped since Chef Ted is coming to cook us dinner tonight. The week is passing much too quickly. We will have to book 2 weeks next year!

This was our 3rd stay on St John, but our first at Andante. This property was hands down the best experience we have had. The cleanliness was spot on, all advertised amenities were in working order (a first for us with a VRBO property). It was super convenient being so close to Cruz Bay. All our prior trips we stayed in Coral bay. Rich and Marilyn were super responsive throughout our stay, and the property manager Luciah, was always in contact with me to inform us of house maintenance. I wish we could have stayed longer, and feel extremely grateful to have this a once in a lifetime to stay at a property like this on St John.

Although Andante is convenient to the beaches and the restaurants and shops of Cruz Bay, this trip we decided to do things a little differently. We planned nothing except to relax and rejuvenate and Andante was the perfect place to do that. We even prepared some meals rather than eating out which was a first for us.
We spent hours each morning on the deck enjoying the view and cooling breeze. In the afternoon we would enjoy the pool and spa and watching the spectacular sunsets. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed for grilling or preparing a meal. We needed nothing additional except the groceries. 
After visiting St John for over 20 years, we experienced our first power outage after dark as we were preparing our meal. We grabbed the flashlight from above the refrigerator but the generator came on almost immediately and we continued preparing our meal and eating with no interruption. This is a wonderful addition to your home! Marilyn and Rich are wonderful owners and have tried to think of everything that would make for a perfect get away.

We had a wonderful week at St. John. Andante was perfect – beautiful views from the three decks, loved the salt water pool, gorgeous gardens, hot tub has great view of sunset, kitchen has everything you need. The beds are all comfortable. Everything is wonderful. We snorkeled, hiked, had some good food. Luciah,  (property manager) made some great recommendations. She has been wonderful!

I'm still reeling from our amazing stay at Andante last week.  Even as I type this, I get a lump in my throat as I scheme on returning as soon as I can...  The villa was absolutely GORGEOUS and everything that we imagined AND MORE... Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your beautiful home with us!  We felt absolutely spoiled with the amazing kitchen, the beautiful pool and hot tub, the comfort of our master suites, the gorgeous panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea (I've never seen so many different shades of blue!!),  and we even got to experience a full moon at Andante!

Andante by the Sea is the perfect place to stay for your St. John vacation. From the time we booked with the owners until check-out, the service and hospitality were wonderful. The home is beautiful, well-kept and in a great location. Cruz Bay is just a short drive away, but it's just far enough out of town to feel "away." The views were perfect; you could see both the sun rise and sun set. The ocean is close enough that you can hear the waves. The pool got plenty of sun so the temperature was nice. We loved having the hot tub, it was a great way to end a busy day. We've stayed in other villas in Coral Bay, but I preferred this house due to the location and amenities. The rental fee is a great value for this home. Highly recommend and give 5/5 stars.

Part of me doesn't want to share any details about this amazing property. From my initial contact with Marilyn and Rich, I knew this was the place for my family. They were so helpful in answering all our questions. From the time we arrived, we felt like we were at a resort. We loved the welcome basket, the robes in each room, all the different types of coolers, and the pool floats. We were also super appreciative of the beach umbrella and wonderful backpack chairs. I am not one to like to cook on vacation. However, with a kitchen and a view like this one, we stayed in and cooked two dinners. The kitchen was so well stocked and the grill is in a perfect location on the deck.

We loved coming home from the beach and swimming at the pool and sitting in the hot tub. We loved all the different places to sit outside and especially appreciate how there were some shady spots to sit as well. The set up of the house is simply perfect and we had a constant breeze that was delightful. We walked down the path to Hart Bay a few times. It was one of our favorite things about the house. We found so much sea glass and many other treasures. We even saw an octopus at low tide. It is definitely a good idea to wear sneakers as you hike the path. If someone is not used to hiking and exercising, it could be a challenge. Favorite Restaurants for dinner Morgan's Mango and Ocean 362. Favorite Restaurants for lunch: Aqua Bistro and Skinny Legs. Things we would remember for next time (hopefully next summer), portable speaker to bring to the beaches, a few more thin beach towels. There are wonderful thick beach towels provided at the house. They were perfect for beaches in close proximity to the car (e.g., Maho) They were a little heavy for hiking to more remote beaches (e.g., Lemon Cay) Snorkeling at Maho and Little Lamshur was amazing! We saw so many turtles, a moray eel, a black tip shark, and many fish! Since we have returned home, there have been many times when we say aloud to each other, "When can we go back?" Thank you so much Marilyn and Rich! We are so grateful St. John continues to rebuild and we can't wait to return.

Well, again our time at Andante was PERFECT! Our happy place indeed. The minute we all in the front door we feel the peacefulness slip into our bodies. Our kids also feel the same way. So we THANK YOU again for sharing your beautiful home. That being said, we would like to reserve it for next year! ... Our Granddaughter is in kindergarten next year so our freedom of choice in dates is limited now. Please let us know if these dates work. Looking forward to talking soon.

We had a fabulous stay at your beautiful home on our favorite island-we all loved Andante for so many reasons. It truly felt like home which we really haven’t experienced over the years renting villas on St John. The villas are always very nice, but don’t have the special personal touches that Andante has. I fell more and more in love with it everyday. I love the architecture of the house and all of it’s character. The arched doorways and windows in the bathroom, the skylights the beautiful rugs and  décor. The views are breathtaking and we enjoyed the pool after a day at the beach (Rocky really liked the having the stereo piped in outside). Thank you for having everything we needed in the kitchen! That was a first – there is always something missing in all of the rentals we have stayed in. Thank you for sharing your amazing home in paradise!

Thank you so much for the gorgeous views of the sunsets and perfect days that your amazing home provided for our honeymoon!  It was an unforgettable memory and I can't wait for our anniversaries to come.  We appreciated all of the recommendations for area sites and places to visit.  There are so many things to do within a short drive.  Since it was the low season, we even had a dive boat all to ourselves.  I hope there were no difficulties with Hurricane Omar that passed through the islands a week or so after our vacation.  It made me think about how glad I was that I purchased the trip insurance that you recommended. We just returned from a beautiful week in St. John. Joe and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, Mary and Tom their 20th, and Cathy and David were celebrating their 25th. Your home was arranged perfectly - great places to hang out together and yet still privacy for each couple. None of us had ever been to St. John before and we all just loved it! We were very comfortable in your home. The views were just amazing! Thank you for paying attention to all the details. It really added to our vacation. We will treasure the time we spent there. We can't wait to share all of our photos with family and friends. We will definitely recommend Andante by the Sea to others.

We had an excellent time!  We couldn't have asked for a better trip!  We (both couples) have been friends for several years and have gone on many vacations together, (a cruise, Vegas, etc.) but this was by far the BEST vacation ever. The villa was excellent as well. 

 

We can't possibly explain how wonderful it was to anyone that wasn't there! When I came back to work, I said "It was really rough, getting up each morning deciding which beach to go to today!"  We went to Maho, Cinnamon, Gibney, Jumbie and Waterlemon Cay. On Monday, we had booked a powerboat trip with Lion in Da Sun, and had a great time. We went to Jost Van Dyke, Sandy Spit, The Baths, Cooper Island, snorkled the Indians, and had a very good time!  It was a private boat so it was only us four and the captain!  We will definitely do that again.

 

We would come back every evening and "chill" in the hot tub and reflect on how wonderful the day had been. Often contemplating what possible job we could do to move to St. John! We snorkeled at several beaches and saw many great things!  Sea turtles, stingray, and all different kinds of fish! It was awesome! By the way, the beach chairs were awesome as well!  Thank You!

I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your home on St. John. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by John at the ferry dock and he did an excellent job of making our stay enjoyable. We spent quite a bit of time on the North Shore beaches and enjoying the pool at the house. The hot tub was very inviting every evening and we were fortunate enough to catch a few breathtaking sunsets from there. Andante was very well equipped with everything needed to make out stay memorable. Our pictures will always remind us of our time in paradise. We hope to return very soon!
